Sonora Rally Road to Dakar
The Mint 400 feels like it was only last week as Dynamic Racing loads up the trailer for the next race on the Road to Dakar 2020. Dynamic Racing will be heading south of the border to compete in the 2019 Sonora Rally, a five day rally-raid across Mexico’s Sonora desert.
This is the ideal race for Christine GZ to get hands-on, blood, sweat, and tears experience for what she can expect in Dakar 2020. For this race Ricardo Torlaschi will be riding shotgun as Christine’s co-driver. Torlaschi has already done 9 Dakar rallies and is one of the best co-drivers for rally raid events. His experience and Christine’s never-lift attitude will be a match made for speed.
The Sonora Rally will also be hosting a Road to Dakar challenge in the UTV category. The grand prize is a free participation in the Dakar 2020 taking place next year in January!
They call the Sonora Rally a “Taste of Dakar” because this race is a navigation challenge. No GPS line, no marked courses, just a road book to study the evening before each stage. Driver and co-driver cannot rely on chase vehicles or pit-stops either. They are on their own until they reach the end of a stage where a “bivouac” is set up and teams camp for the night. The Sonora Rally is a top tier event that attracts only the most serious of off-road races. Any team serious about Dakar comes to Sonora to test their skill under some of the best off-road scenarios in the world.
The Sonora Rally starts March 17th and runs all the way through the 22nd and you’ll be able to track Dynamic and Christine via live tracking through this link at http://www.sonorarally.com once the rally begins. Dynamic Racing will be competing with Monkey Business, our partners for the Sonora Rally this year.
Supporting us where the rubber meets the road is Maxxis Tires and Vision Wheels, and we are ecstatic to have them sponsoring us on our Road to Dakar 2020 mission. Our neon green Dynamic Can-Am X3 UTV’s will refreshed and race ready for Sonora thanks to support provided by Maglock USA, Factory UTV, Weddle Racing Gears and Baja Designs. See you all in Mexico!
