Why Nostalgia Won’t Help the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee

You know I love your products. So please understand that this article comes from a place of love, support, and empathy. You need to stop marketing the 600-HP Hurricane-powered 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee like a traditional muscle car.

Nostalgia can’t help you this time!

You created an eight-cylinder monster back in the 1960s and 1970s and let it loose during the 2010s. It has been running rampant at drag strips, illegal takeovers, and police impound yards since then. Many of the people who love these cars, who will gladly go into serious debt for these cars, are never going to accept the sound and number of cylinders in your fantastic 3.0L Hurricane engine.  

You can bring a horse to water, but you can’t make it sign a lease. But there’s a way to fix this! Instead of forcing people to accept a different form of something they’ve known, sell them a new concept.

A Sports Sedan with Serious Muscle  

You need to do this car a service and change the marketing style.

The comments will never change. Keyboard warriors, many who can barely handle 200 horsepower, will mock it for not being a V8. Doesn’t matter if the new 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee can slide like a drift car and do burnouts like a muscle car. It doesn’t matter that this twin-turbocharged Hurricane Super Bee has more power than the 6.4L 392ci predecessor and can accelerate like a supercharged 6.2L Hellcat.  

The new generation Dodge Charger is a sports sedan, so stop doing burnouts and start breaking track records. Showcase the car’s full potential as a handler, a wheelman’s getaway dream car. A full-size, rear-wheel capable, American sedan with the muscle to punch out anything from Germany in a wild west saloon brawl.  

I know what this car can do. I’ve driven the Charger Scat Pack Six Pack and seen its potential firsthand from behind the wheel. So, it angers me that people who have never driven this car are mocking it simply because it doesn’t have an obnoxiously loud supercharger whine or a Hemi rumble.

They are missing out.  

Send To a Track  

It’s your marketing team’s job to stop depending on quarter mile nostalgia and try something different. Take it to the Nürburgring, or any racetrack, and let it cut loose. You have an opportunity to create a machine that will force the Germans to go back to the drawing board in fear and anger.  

Hire Jason Statham to put on a black suit and use the 2027 Dodge Charger to transport something.  

Stop giving the Hurricane-powered variants classic names attached to V8 engines. Save them for the Hemi. Create new ones. This is a new branch on the Mopar family tree, and it deserves better. The car has too much potential to be dismissed by people because it organizes its cylinders in a line instead of a V. If you keep marketing the car this way, sales will suffer, and I would hate to see this car go before it got a real opportunity to shine.

2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Performance Specs  

ENGINE

The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee packs a punch using a 600-horsepower tuned variant of the 3.0L twin-turbocharged Hurricane High Output inline six. It features larger 56mm Garrett turbochargers capable of delivering over 30 PSI of boost, translating to 531 lb.-ft of torque.

An 8-speed automatic transmission manages the power sent to the standard All-Wheel Drive system, with a special button on the steering wheel to switch to tire-smoking Rear-Wheel Drive on the fly.  

The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee will blitz the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds and sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds.  

CHASSIS and SUSPENSION 

Dodge gave the 2027 Charger Super Bee dual-valve adaptive damping suspension with adjustable damping. The 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee sticks to the road with stiffer front and rear springs, and a rear anti-roll bar screwed on 20% stiffer.

The suspension bushings have also been reinforced to ensure this big sedan can handle curves like Casa Nova. The cherry on the bottom are a set of 20-inch forged wheels wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires.  

BRAKING

When it’s time to throw out the anchor, the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee stops on a dime. Thanks to 16-inch vented Brembo-branded rotors with six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston at the back. According to Dodge, these brakes offer 27% more brake pad surface area compared to the Scat Pack, offering better resistance to brake fade.  

Give It a Chance to Earn Its Own Nostalgia

I’ve always said, I am a true Mopar fan. I didn’t quit on you like some common bandwagoner in 2024 when the Hemi went away because I follow the code: Mopar or NoCar.

I gave the Hurricane a fair chance – and it paid off. As an experienced auto writer and Mopar guy, my two cents of advice to you, Dodge, is to give the Hurricane Charger its own image so it can earn its nostalgia in the future.
