New Mothers Ceramic Spray & Rinse Streamlines a Wet Shine

Mothers recently sent me a bottle of its new Ceramic Spray & Rinse detailing spray, the latest in its California Gold collection. This new product from Mothers is water-activated and designed to offer water-repelling properties to vehicle surfaces. This detailing spray delivers a premium shine and can be used to maintain ceramic coated surfaces.

Moreover, the product is applied during the car washing process, not after. Designed to be applied during the final rinsing the vehicle. Mothers Spray & Rinse works by being applied on wet surfaces and rinsed off before the final drying.

The result is a signature Mother’s shine, with the added benefit of water-repellent properties to make the shine easier to dry and maintain. This product also works for maintaining vehicle surfaces treated with professionally installed Ceramic Coating.

Seeing the Results in the Paint’s Reflection  

I tested the new Mothers Ceramic Spray & Rinse detailing spray on a 2027 Infiniti QX65 Autograph. A luxury mid-size SUV that wore a $1,900 premium shade of Sunfire red. An ideal, and complementary, canvas to try out this new Mother’s car detailing product.

When I applied the spray to the hood of the Infiniti, the results were almost instant. Water droplets started running down the paintwork upon being sprayed. The spray bottle acted like a starter pistol, sending water to sprint down by the force of gravity on a newly slick surface.  

According to the instructions, Mothers recommends applying the Spray & Rinse detailing spray one body panel at a time. Why? Because you need to rinse off immediately after applying. This is not a leave-it-and-let-it-ferment kind of product. It is water-activated, so there is no need to wait for it to “start working”. After you’ve applied and rinsed the entire car, you’ll notice drying is much easier, as micro towels glide over surfaces.  

My main critique of this product is that you risk wasting the entire bottle too quickly before finishing the vehicle if you’re trigger happy. Don’t be generous. You don’t need to bathe the hood or a fender in the product. A general over spray is enough.  

Mothers Ceramic Spray & Rinse is safe to use on paint, as well as glass, wheels, and plastic trim.

Mothers Ceramic Spray & Rinse is a unique product that can change the way you hand wash vehicles. It’s an added step, but a quick one that doesn’t require elbow grease or Karate Kid training.
