Andreas Nikolaus Lauda – Austria’s F1 Champion

Andreas Nikolaus “Niki” Lauda passed away at age 70 on May 20th, 2019. Known by many as one of the greatest F1 drivers in the history of the motorsport. Niki Lauda won the F1 World Championship three times in 1975, 1977, and 1984. He is the only driver in history to be champion for both Ferrari and McLaren.

It is a huge blow to the motorsport community as anyone who even remotely enjoys racing knows the name Niki Lauda. The Austrian driver who refused to give up after a near death accident at the Nürburgring  left him burned and plagued with live long medical issues in 1976. It only took 41 days before Lauda was back in the driver seat at the ’76 Italian Grand Prix where he finished 4th, and became a racing legend.

His story will be immortalized.
