Gorillaz, GM Muscle Cars, and Bruce Willis

Released in 2010, Stylo was the 5th track, and the first single, on Gorillaz’ 3rd album Plastic Beach. If you haven’t seen the music video yet because you aren’t a fan of Gorillaz, fear not! Here are 4 reasons to watch it if you enjoy cool cars.

  • 1969 Chevrolet Camaro
  • 1969 Chevrolet El Camino
  • 1972 Dodge Coronet Police Car
  • Bruce Willis swinging a .44 Magnum revolver

Stylo music video was filmed in Calico, CA. Production team hired a Mercedes Benz SUV camera vehicle for filming the driving tracking shots, and trailer rigs for in-car camera scenes. The Dodge Coronet survived its jump crash through the makeshift build board, just barely, but lost a windshield and had to be tilted on its side for the crash scene. I assume that car is currently sitting at the far end of a movie studio backlot collecting surface rust.

The star-car Stylo Camaro survived its brisk jump during filming and is currently in private hands living in Denmark. This is according to fandom.com

A How-Its-Made with Muscle Cars

This video is fun to watch not just as music fan, but as a film buff. Its always interesting to see how certain shots are captured. The amount of effort and planning that goes into making a 5 minute video set to music is staggering. Check it out!
