Christine GZ Racing the Baja 250
A typical racing driver would want a vacation after completing a week long desert rally raid, but Christine GZ is several thousand miles away from being typical. Less than two weeks after fracturing her hand and then completing the Sonora Rally, of which she won a stage, she is already packing for the next race. Christine is heading back across the border to compete in the 33rd Baja 250 in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. In Christine’s mind, the Road to Dakar has no rest stops and is determined to continue racing while medical studies are still being done on her left hand to determine the extent of her fracture.
The Baja 250 is the shortest of the 4 SCORE series of races that include the Baja 500, Baja 400, and the top tier Baja 1000 at the end of the year. The race will be a single loop 300+ mile off-road course in Mexico’s scenic Baja desert. This is a great race to get a feel of what the Baja 500 and 1000 are going to be like later in the year. All these races count as training for the ultimate goal of racing in Dakar 2020 in January.
Fans have expressed concern for Christine’s hand and we cannot thank you all enough for your love and support. However, telling Christine GZ to stop racing is like telling water to stop being wet. She is a dynamic woman and tougher than most. We’re so proud to have her on our team!
